Robin Mark

I DIG ROBIN MARK’S REVIVAL IN BELFAST: When my son was diagnosed with leukemia in 2004, it was Robin Mark’s music that carried me over the abyss. Things were so rough that I had to reach for something much bigger than myself, far beyond my imagination, to something more good and more great than anything I’d ever known. And that’s simply the Lord and who He is.

behold He comes
riding on a cloud
shining like the sun

Years later, Sam is good. No sign of cancer. He’s tall for his grade, 3rd. The other day someone asked if he was in 6th grade. He even started a fight with an 11 year old yesterday (he’s 8; he’s not the fighting type; that’s the first time he ever tried to do something like that; I’m just sayin).

lift your voice
it’s the year of jubilee

It reminds me of a lyric from one of the new U2 songs:

look for me
i’ll be shouting
shout into the darkness
squeeze out sparks of light

When tragedy hits you, you gotta hit back with everything you’ve got. Go deep into God. The violent bear it away.
